On November 8, the Malaysian Muruo GIS expansion project undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 8 was finally handed over, bringing a successful end to the project construction.
Muruo hydropower station is located in Sarawak, Malaysia. It is the second cascade hydropower station in the four cascade development of the upper reaches of the Rajan River, with a total installed capacity of 944mw. The project was started in October 2008, the river was closed in May 2010, the sluice was closed in April 2014, and the first unit generated power in December 2014. It won the international milestone project award of RCC dam in 2015, the medal of China electric power quality project in 2016, and the Luban Award, the highest honor of China's engineering construction in 2016-2017.
As a follow-up construction project of Muruo hydropower station, the GIS expansion project was signed by the owner SEB and the main contractor Three Gorges Development (Malaysia) Company on December 23, 2016. The project was started on January 4, 2017, and the international company of Engineering Bureau is still responsible for the project performance.
After site acceptance and inspection, the owner issued the final handover certificate to the project department on November 8, 2021, indicating that the overall implementation of the project has reached the owner's expected objectives and the project performance has been successfully completed.
