The performance of 304L stainless steel is mainly related to its alloy composition. The chromium contained in stainless steel reacts with oxygen and creates a very thin protective film on the metal surface. This passive film helps limit further oxidation and gives stainless steel its characteristic corrosion resistance.
Nickel in the alloy contributes to ductility, toughness and corrosion resistance, while the low carbon level of 304L provides an important advantage during welding.
During welding, stainless steel can be exposed to elevated temperatures. In conventional stainless steel grades, excessive carbon can contribute to chromium carbide formation in certain conditions. 304L contains a lower level of carbon, reducing this tendency and making it well suited to many welded stainless steel fabrications.
Cold rolling is performed after the hot rolling stage to reduce material thickness and improve dimensional characteristics. The process can provide:

After appropriate annealing and finishing, the material can be supplied with the specified 2B surface.

For ordinary construction and general fabrication, 304L can be an effective choice. For environments containing higher levels of chlorides or aggressive chemicals, 316L or other higher-alloy grades may be more appropriate.
For this product, the recommended range is: 1.5mm / 2.0mm / 2.5mm / 3.0mm. A thicker gauge may be preferable where greater rigidity or structural strength is needed, while thinner material can reduce weight and material consumption.
Standard widths include: 1000mm, 1219mm and 1500mm. Customized widths can be considered when the customer's production line requires specific dimensions.
2B is a practical choice for general manufacturing. Choose BA when a brighter appearance is required. Choose NO.4 or HL for brushed decorative applications. Choose 8K when a highly reflective mirror appearance is required.
If the material will go directly into production, customers should specify whether they require: Coil → Decoiling → Cutting → Bending → Punching → Welding. Providing these requirements before production can help optimize final material dimensions and reduce processing waste.
